I have a disability – can I get benefits while I’m studying?

Answer

If you get Scottish Disability Payment or Personal Independence Payment (PIP), you’ll still receive these while you’re studying.

If you’re studying full-time:

Other benefits, like Universal Credit, might stop. It’s important to speak to your Benefits Advisor or Work Coach to find out how studying could affect your payments.

If you’re studying part-time:

You should be able to stay on Universal Credit, but you should still speak to your Benefits Advisor or Work Coach. They can tell you if you need to report that you're studying part-time.
