Can I get free bus travel to college?

Answer

Under 22s in Scotland
can apply for a free bus pass. For more information visit the Young Persons Free Transport website.

For those 22 and over, and studying an FE course (NC, NQ) travel will be automatically added to your bursary assessment if you live more than 2 miles from the college.

For all people eligible to receive SAAS on HE (HNC, HND, B.A) Courses, travel funding is part of your SAAS Living cost loan payment.

ESOL students can get a contribution towards their travel if they are more than 2 miles away from the college. To apply log on to Citylife > Student Services > Financial Support > Part time and ESOL application form.

Asylum Seekers this will depend on your course and timetable:

  • ESOL students: bus pass.

  • Full-time students: bus pass.

  • Part-time students: bus tokens.

  • Community students: bus tokens.

You must live more than 2 miles from college.  You need to be logged into your college account to access the application form.
