Do I really need to reference?
Answer
Yes, you do!
At college, you are expected to read lots about your subject area to help you learn and develop your understanding further. Your own thinking and writing will be influenced by what you read, helping you to develop your own opinions. However, you should make it clear when you are drawing on the ideas, words, data and so on from others.
If you put no sources in your work, your reader will assume all your written work is from your original thoughts. If you have used others' work, but don't give them credit as a source, then you are plagiarising.
