What is summarising?

Answer

In referencing, summarising is providing a brief overview of the main points of an article, chapter or a work, using your own words. You should give the source in your text (author, year) and the full source details in your bibliography.

It is different from paraphrasing which describes (again, in your own words) a much smaller section of text.
